Here’s the latest related to the transformation and the future of the riverfront area:

Rivers Edge Subdivision

Riverfront Developments

Several luxury apartment units are under construction as you travel along Papermill Run from the west side to the east side!  The Current of the Fox – Kimberly includes the Ebb, Flow, and Oasis structures.  For further information on the units and overall apartment development contact Midwest Expansion https://thecurrentofkimberly.com/ or 920-434-7707. 

Midwest Expansion will also be constructing a restaurant located just north of the Main Street cul-de-sac.  This restaurant will offer riverfront dining with views of the Fox.  The Village is working together with the Developer to create a public scenic overlook between the restaurant and the dam.  The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation awarded the Village $250,000 in June of 2019 for the construction of the overlook feature!  Concepts are currently being designed and construction is anticipated to begin in 2021.  Up to date news from Midwest Expansion concerning The Current of the Fox Developments can be located here.

Papermill Estates  

Located at the corner of Main Street and Maes Avenue, this 49 lot planned unit development continues to grow!  This development offers a relaxing carefree lifestyle.  For more information on how to become a part of this community contact Rich Van Sistine at 920-209-9493 or www.integrityhomes.us.  This development was completed in 2022.

Treaty Park

A very exciting time for the entrance to the center of The Cedars redevelopment.  Treaty Park was completed in the fall of 2019.  This park offers a new ADA accessible play structure, gazebo shade structure, historic artifacts from the mill site including the old paper roll monument from in front of the old mill, a winding trail connecting the river to Memorial Park trails and riverfront trails, over 140 new trees and open green space.  Check out the park concepts here.  

The Roots

Just east of Treaty Park is a new apartment and mixed-use commercial development: “The Current Roots”.  The Current Roots is a community development by Midwest Expansion that will relate to the riverfront Ebb, Flow and Oasis living concepts.  For further information on the unit and overall apartment development contact Midwest Expansion https://thecurrentofkimberly.com/ or 920-434-7707.

This presentation showcases a digital copy of a “History of the Cedars” presentation including all photos, stats, and projections for the future of the Kimberly Mill Site Redevelopment.  As the site develops further the presentation will be added to as a complete history of the site.

Coming in 2023

The Village is excited to share two new developments coming in 2023.  Festival Foods is developing the “Old Shopko” building into a grocery store and business suites. The Village is also excited to share updates on the “Blue at the Trails” development. Check out the planning documents approved by the village board at the 2/27/23 meeting of the board.
