POLY CART INFORMATION
Each polycart distributed to the residents will be logged with the serial number and address. The carts are the property of the Village and must remain with the address given. Please refrain from defacing the carts with unnecessary writing and/or stickers.
AUTOMATED GARBAGE COLLECTION RULES
The polycart must be placed curbside by 6:00 AM on the day of your collection or the night before but not prior to 5:00 PM.
Carts must be removed within 24 hours of collection. Helpful hint: pulling an empty cart is easier than pushing it.
All solid waste must fit in the polycart without packing it too tightly and the lid must close. Any waste set outside the container will not be collected.
Large, bulky non metal items such as sofas, mattresses, chairs, televisions, toilets, etc. will be picked up once a month on the last pick up day of the month.
Do not place any hazardous waste or hot ashes in the cart for collection.
Do not place any building materials in the polycart for pick up. The Village of Kimberly does not pick up building materials.
Recycling is a must. Recycling is a state law in Wisconsin.
PLACEMENT OF THE POLYCART
Set your polycart on a flat surface near the edge of the curb or at the end of your driveway apron. Placing your cart on the apron eliminates vehicles from parking in front of your cart.
Keep in mind that the one-man collection truck is approx. 32 feet long and needs space and the correct angle to extend its collection arm.
The polycart must be placed a minimum of four (4) feet away from any object such as mailboxes, trees, vehicles, utility poles and snow piles. This includes any items set out for pickup on the last day of the month.
Do not place polycart under low wires; the collection arm needs ten (10) feet four (4) inches to dumb the polycart.
Make sure the arrow on the polycart lid is facing the road.
If polycart cannot be reached for any reason, garbage will not be picked up.
Polycarts cannot be placed on leaf or snow piles. They must be placed at ground level.
WITH AUTOMATED GARBAGE, THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO THE PRESENT RECYCLING PICK-UP SCHEDULE, DATES, OR PICK-UP LOCATIONS.
