RECYCLING INFORMATION

Residents are reminded when placing recyclable materials out on windy days, to secure them and prevent them from blowing around the neighborhood.

Please be sure to have your recyclables at the curb the night before or at 6:00 AM on your collection day. With the new collector, your recyclables may be picked up at a different time of the day than in the past, so having your recycling out by 6:00am is important.

Wittenberg Disposal is the recycling contractor. Wittenberg is contracted through Outagamie County. Anyone with questions or concerns regarding recycling pick up should contact Wittenberg Disposal directly at 1-888-804-8556.

Rmember, recycling is every other week with the schedule as follows:

Tuesdays - Helen Street to West side of Main Street north of the railraod tracks
Wednesdays - East side of Main street to Darboy Road north of the Railroad Tracks
Thursdays - all residents south or the Railroad Tracks

To make collection easier for those providing the recycling and garbage service, clearly separate your trash from your recycling.

When putting your recyclables at the curb, you may need to cover them with a heavy object such as a paper bag full of newspaper and magazines or a bundle of cardboard. Make sure the container is large enough so your materials aren't overflowing. If you have a tall container tipping over in the wind, you may wish to use one or more rectangular bins instead. As one option, rectangular recycling bins 18 and 24 gallons in size are sold at certain local stores.

Check the website at http://www.co.outagamie.wi.us/sw/mainpage.html and click on "Recycling/Hazardous" link for the locations nearest you. Large cardboard should be broken down with the maximum dimensions of 3ft. X 3ft and bundled. A cardboard box may be used for magazines, shredded paper, newspaper, etc, but be sure it is no larger than 3ft. X 3ft. X 1 ft.

Plastic bags from grocery stores and department stores can only be recycled through plastic bag drop off sites located at Wal-Mart Retail Stores, and Copps Food Centers. Please DO NOT place plastic bags with roadside pick up recycling items. Your recycling will not be picked up.
Since Outagamie County has kicked the blue bag out of recycling and is now requiring you to use a container, it has been brought to our attention that some people using the old red, green and yellow recycling containers are recycling by following the items listed on the container. Even though the recycling contract allows for our residents to continue to use these containers you cannot go by what is printed on the container. Please remember that all recycling materials (tin, clear glass, dark glass, aluminum, plastic, and etc...) can be mixed together and that all paper and cardboard must be separate from all other recycling.

PUT RECYCLABLES OUT EARLY

Whether you're an early riser or a late sleeper, remember the recycling pick up trucks are on the streets early.  Please have your recyclables out the night before, or by 6:00 am the day of pick up.
