Cedars Updates

It is a busy time of year for the Cedars riverfront redevelopment!  2019 has brought the Village plenty of opportunities and the ability to make great progress at the site.  Here’s the latest related to the transformation and the future of the riverfront area:

Rivers Edge Subdivision

This nearly 20 acre subdivision on the most western edge of the property offers over 40 single family lots and two planned unit developments.  In May of 2019 the area was sold to a developer to market, construct and sell single family homes and planned development units.  If you are interested in a single family lot or a future planned unit development home, please contact Tom Juza, Developer at 920-371-1075 tjuza@tjuza.com.  The subdivision received concrete roads in August and additional landscape screening and buffers will the planted in the fall.  The area offers a quiet residential setting with amazing river views! 

Riverfront Developments

Several luxury apartment units are under construction as you travel along Papermill Run from the west side to the east side!  The Ebb and Flow structures have started and anticipated completion is set for the Summer of 2020.  The Oasis, another structure located at the end of Sidney Street has ramped up construction.  This luxury apartment complex will be complete in the Spring of 2020.  For further information on the unit and overall apartment development contact Midwest Expansion https://thecurrentofkimberly.com/ or 920-434-7707. 

 Midwest Expansion will also be converting a former mill structure into a restaurant experience located just north of the Main Street cul-de-sac.  This restaurant will offer riverfront dining with views of the Fox.  The Village is working together with the Developer to create a public scenic overlook between the restaurant and the dam.  The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation awarded the Village $250,000 in June of 2019 for the construction of the overlook feature!  Concepts are currently being designed and construction is anticipated to begin in 2020.

Papermill Estates  

Located at the corner of Main Street and Maes Avenue, this 49 lot planned unit development continues to grow!  This development offers a relaxing carefree lifestyle.  For more information on how to become a part of this community contact Rich Van Sistine at 920-209-9493 or www.integrityhomes.us 

Treaty Park

A very exciting time for the entrance to the center of The Cedars redevelopment.  Treaty Park has taken shape this summer and will be complete in the fall of 2019.  This park will offer a new ADA accessible play structure, gazebo shade structure, historic artifacts from the mill site including grinder wheels and the old paper roll monument from in front of the old mill, over 100 new trees and open green space.  Check out the park concepts here.  A grand opening for the park will be announced in the near future, follow us on Facebook for details!

 The Roots

Just east of Treaty Park is a new apartment and mixed-use commercial development.  The Roots is a community development by Midwest Expansion that will relate to the riverfront Ebb, Flow and Oasis living concepts.  This portion of the development has broken ground on one apartment unit and will begin four more units this fall.  The first unit rentals will be available in the coming months.  For further information on the unit and overall apartment development contact Midwest Expansion https://thecurrentofkimberly.com/ or 920-434-7707.
